About / English

I photograph the sacred landscapes of Kumano, home to the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage routes in Wakayama and Mie, Japan.

The Kumano Kodo is internationally known as a UNESCO World Heritage pilgrimage route.
Yet beyond the paths themselves lies Kumano — a wider spiritual region shaped by mountains, forests, rivers, and the sea, where belief and daily life have long existed side by side.

I was born in this region and continue to photograph its landscapes, people, and quiet moments. My approach is not to explain Kumano, but to create space for it to be felt.Through restraint, atmosphere, and stillness, I seek to reflect what already exists rather than impose meaning.

My photographs are rooted in the slow rhythm of this land.
They present places not as destinations, but as experiences shaped by time, memory, and presence.

My work has been featured by official tourism organizations in Japan, including Visit Wakayama.

I collaborate with tourism organizations, publishers, and brands seeking an honest and respectful visual representation of place.
